Emilia Vaughn returns to talk singles "French Film" & "Dead Bouquets" - Interview

Returning for another fantastic conversation, but this time chatting all about her singles “French Film” and “Dead Bouquets”, we welcomed back Emilia Vaughn! Please check out our full interview with the artist below.

For those potentially out of the loop, Emilia Vaughn is an American alternative pop singer and songwriter originally from San Diego, California, but now based in Boston while she attends Berklee College of Music. Continuing to expand and refine her sound, she’s let loose two wonderful new songs called “French Film” and “Dead Bouquets”. The two are sonically different and diverse, but 100% show off her versatility as a blossoming musician. We can’t wait for everyone to enjoy our follow up conversation with Emilia.

The last time we spoke with Emilia was surrounding her debut EP release Eighteen, and since then, she’s put her foot to the gas in continuing to create, revolutionize, and mold her eclectic sound. As mentioned, you’re going to hear two wildly different songs, yet the constant between them all is of course Emilia’s voice and the way that she carries the tune. Furthermore, it was an absolute delight to get to hear the background and origin story of these songs. Though they’re entirely personal and didn’t come from the best place according to her story, they’re building blocks to life, and at the least more beautiful art exists in the world now because of it. We’d highly recommend connecting the dots within her words as well as her storytelling and songwriting has managed to level up as well.

Even going back and comparing some of the sights and sounds of Eighteen, you can feel the immense amount of growth in 5 months' time. As Emilia has said, she’s not going to stop experimenting and trying new things and that’s so important for an emerging artist like her who’s continuing to find what works best. Whether you like the more cinematic approach on “French Film” or the laidback vibes that “Dead Bouquets” gives off, there’s a little something for everyone and that’s what we love.
