Ears With Eyes talks us through his debut, "Amber Waves of Piss" - Interview
Coming out strong with his debut single titled “Amber Waves of Piss”, we got the opportunity to sit and speak with the man behind the project, Ears With Eyes. Please enjoy our full interview with the artist below.
From the mind of Ryan Havers comes his project Ears With Eyes that just unleashed a killer debut single, “Amber Waves of Piss”. For this Beacon, New York-based artist, he’s delicately crafted an eclectic mix of musical genres for a song that covers important lyrical themes such as anti-gun worship, toxic masculinity, and plenty more. We spoke quite in-depth on the matter, but also got a peek into the recording process, what else is on the way, and much more.
With the song freshly releasing on July 1st, 2022, and a music video to accompany it later this month, it appears as though we’re just at the beginning of so much more coming from Ears With Eyes. Surrounding Ryan himself though, he’s no stranger to the music scene in the slightest and has been a part of plenty of other bands within his local scene. Ultimately the plan right now is to share new music every month or so, and with “Amber Waves of Piss” being a complete hit in our eyes, we’re already patiently waiting for more.
The song itself takes so many inspirations and influences from the likes of Gorillaz, Sonic Youth, and more, but Ryan has still imparted a ton of originality into the mix. It’s lyrically heavy as mentioned, but don’t discount the instrumentation to pack a punch as well. With lo-fi vocals adding a real complexity and layered feeling to the song as a whole, it’s truly one we had to give a few listens to really differentiate the denseness of everything happening at once. We came to love it, along with Ryan himself, which is why we’ll undoubtedly be following this project in the near future.
In the meantime while we wait for more, please go ahead and check out those links below to listen, follow along, and to stay tuned for more on the way.
