Continuing on his roll of sensational singles in 2022, Dreux Gerard is back with another catchy one titled “Just take me with you”. Please read on for a closer look into the track, as well as a much needed background on this emerging artist.

Currently based out of New Orleans, Louisiana, Dreux Gerard is a singer, songwriter, and absolutely no stranger to the music scene. Although he’s been part of many bands over the years, his best work as a solo artist is in the present, because we’re loving everything about his current lineup of tunes. With “Just take me with you” being the latest, we’re confident that this song in particular will lead anyone who listens into a deep exploration into the rest of his discography.

Led by Dreux’s whimsical vocals on top of an acoustic guitar that hops and skips along throughout the listen, dare we say there’s a certain cuteness that “Just take me with you” holds. It’ll all make sense when you click the play button, we promise, but the lightheartedness and intimacy that comes off of it is a definite plus. With the rare addition of a solo that’s just whistling, we do feel that he’s purposefully thought outside of the box to create something both original and fresh in a genre that desperately needs it. There’s nothing overly complicated about this track, but honestly if it featured any needless production gimmicks, it would take away the purity that we enjoyed the most about it as a whole.

In addition to the instrumentation being fantastic, he’s crafted up a storyline and contextual themes that anyone can pick apart and follow along with. In our understanding, there’s no hidden motives, just clever words that form a complete song by the end. Considering this is Dreux’s third single release of the year, and potentially his best one yet, we weren’t joking when we said he’s continuing his roll because they’ve all been of high quality. They’re similar in sound, but still exude signature qualities that let you know Dreux Gerard is at the helm guiding the way.
