Don't Stop or We'll Die unveil anthology album, "Bloom of the Goji"
After nearly 6 months of their weekly podcast SONG-A-WEEK running, Don’t Stop or We’ll Die have finally released their anthology album of songs, titled Bloom of the Goji. Do yourselves a huge favor and read along as we break down what you can expect on the record.
It wasn’t too long ago at this point that we sat down with Paul Rust and Michael Cassady of Don’t Stop or We’ll Die to discuss the unveiling of their weekly podcast, SONG-A-WEEK. We even asked if they’d ever consider taking the songs that would be released from the podcast and turning them into an album. Thankfully though, our wishes were granted, and Bloom of the Goji now lives!
What you can expect on the record is a cohesive album of songs directly from the podcast, but in album form. If you’ve been keeping up with the podcast like we have then you’re not necessarily getting anything new, however, they’ve made it incredibly easy to listen to it in one fell swoop. You can expect to not only be wooed by their clever lyrics, but also instrumentally motivated by how tight the band is. Without a doubt, it’s a win-win situation.
Now if for some reason you’ve been living on another planet and Don’t Stop or We’ll Die hasn’t become a staple band in your everyday listening, there’s practically no better place to start listening than here. Not only do you get a hefty dose of their signature sound and brand, but now you’ve got a new podcast to tune into as well. If it feels like we’re overhyping the group, we’re not, we just feel bad you haven’t had the chance to let this greatness into your life.
With all this being said though, this self-proclaimed Los Angeles based piano-pop-weirdo group aren’t getting nearly enough attention for the hilarity they’re bringing to the comedy pop scene. As Bloom of the Goji sees the light of day, our hopes and wishes are that the band keeps up the high quality on the podcast weekly. If it’s any consolation, we’ll be listening.
