We’ve all been there at some point in our social media lives, but have you ever felt like you knew someone who you’ve never met because you’ve monitored their online presence? If you’ve answered yes, then we’ve got a fantastic new song for you to check out from Dia Morgan. It’s called “Stranger on the Internet” and it’s a lyrically poignant track that not only speaks the truth, but offers a cutting edge production and a passionate performance from the artist herself.
As this was our introduction to Dia’s music as a whole, we honestly didn’t know what to expect, but she left us with an overwhelmingly sense of positivity and a connection you can really only feel through music. Not to flip her own message on her, but even connecting the dots through her lyricism made us feel like we knew her, even though we’ve never met her. It’s odd how that works, but she’s made herself as vulnerable as ever by getting this song and message out there. Thankfully for all the listeners, it goes beyond catchy and perfectly highlights her high competencies as an artist, songwriter, and composer. If anything, it’s given us the green light to further explore her discography as we’re sure there’s plenty of gems hiding in there.
Jam-packed with 80’s inspired synthesizers and a top tier production that’s effortlessly crisp and clean, the cherry on top truly has to be Dia’s vocals. Not only can she hit the high notes, but her delivery and storytelling was paramount to this song coming together as she envisioned. Anyone can read lyrics off a piece of paper, but it’s the conviction and the emotion behind it all that gets you sucked in the most. Pop music as a whole these days feels like it’s constantly recycling sounds, styles, and contextual themes, but “Stranger on the Internet” flips everything around and impresses from start to finish.
With all that being said, please do yourselves all a favor and check out the important links below to listen, follow along, and to stay tuned for plenty more on the way from Dia Morgan.
