Dani Teveluwe lets her vocals shine on latest single, "Hypnotise"
Making a swift return after her last single “Waiting Wasting Time”, Dani Teveluwe is back at it with another vocally impressive track titled “Hypnotise”. Please read on for our glowing review, in addition to an update on the artist.
Crafting something that mirrors elements of her last song, Dani Teveluwe is clearly crafting herself a signature sound with her latest, “Hypnotise”. Featuring a grand and almost dream pop-like feel to it all, the artist takes the listener on a lyrically powerful and vocally magnificent journey from beginning to end. It’s easy to get lost in her words and the cloudiness of the song’s atmosphere, but ultimately we’ve grown to love this one with each subsequent listen.
On the heels of this release though comes an even bigger announcement, which is that Dani officially has a debut EP in the works that’s called Into The Deep. It will feature six total tracks, and from what we’ve heard so far with the initial two, is shaping up to be something incredibly special and cohesive. Not to make too many comparisons to “Waiting Wasting Time”, but “Hypnotise” has gone down this same path of having us feel introspective in a sense. What we mean by that, and we promise this wasn’t a pun on purpose, but truly Dani’s voice is hypnotic in the way that you get sucked into every word she’s saying. Paired together with an outrageous production that sounds stellar on a nice pair of headphones, it’s music like this that keeps us out of our own heads and focusing on the message she’s trying to convey.
It’s no surprise that her vocals carry the weight of the song and stand in front as a real highlight, but there’s also so many other glimmers of artistic genius that show themselves too. The background isn’t what we’d consider minimalistic, rather there didn’t need to be any pointless gimmicks or novelties to draw attention, she’s got it all handled on her own. We’re clearly thrilled with this song, but even more hyped up for the big release day of the EP. Here’s hoping it’s on its way soon enough!
