Cody Steinmann returns to talk suspenseful single, "Sydoc" - Interview

Fresh off the release of another spectacular single, Cody Steinmann did us a huge favor and dropped by to talk about his latest, “Sydoc”. We highly recommend you take the time to listen to our chat and enjoy the song.

For those potentially out of the loop, Cody Steinmann has consistently been at the forefront of experimentation when it comes to his music and projects involved. While things typically lean more towards a guitar-based jazz, he’s channeled sort of his darker side on this track and we’ve quickly come to appreciate it. Of course, during our conversation Cody was kind enough to break down how exactly this one came to be, all the musicians involved in making it, and what else we can expect later in the year.

Coming in at nearly eight and a half minutes of length, Cody takes you on a legitimate thrill ride featuring his classic twists, turns, and exceptional motifs. As mentioned, he’s certainly leaned more into the darker and suspenseful side of the tone evoked, but in our opinion, it conveys emotion so much easier through his playing. Additionally, we’re massive fans of that heavy and slightly-metal feeling sound. Having listened to his entire discography, there’s no doubt in our minds that stands out as an outlier, but in the best way possible. Honestly, it’s the definition of an artist continuing to refine and become inspired by the world around him. We spoke about this in-depth during our conversation, but considering these are instrumental tracks with no lyrics, the only way to express yourself is through the mood and vibe.

As Cody continues the rollout of these individual singles, it’s becoming harder and harder to tell what might be lined up next in terms of his trajectory. The best part though is that we’re on the ride with him and legitimately cannot wait for whatever is on the horizon. There’s always something looming around the corner and he’s always got a show coming up too. So please, go ahead and check out those links below to listen, follow along, and of course to stay tuned for all future releases and information.
