Released last year in 2021, but still as special and powerful today, we’re falling more and more in love with Chris Poulson’s debut EP, Fall into Pieces. Please read on for an in-depth review of the record, in addition to a background on this artist.

While this is Chris Poulson’s debut record as a solo artist, he’s certainly no stranger to the music scene in the slightest. Having been involved in the industry since the early 2000’s, being a part of Rock Kills Kid, and consistent features on MTV, Fuse, and more, he’s no stranger whatsoever. With that being said though, his newest release Fall into Pieces is a masterful work jam-packed with sincerity, inventive sounds, and a ton of heart. We can’t help but overwhelmingly recommend a listen for all the readers out there.

At just 3 total tracks, spanning right around 10 minutes in length, the record packs a punch right from the start on the opener and title track “Fall into Pieces”. It acts as a power ballad which delicately shows off Chris’ powerhouse vocals that steal the show, but we’d be lying if we said the heavy instrumentation backing him up didn’t set the tone as well. To be honest, that was definitely one of our favorite parts of this listen as a whole was how even though there’s just 3 songs, each one manages to take on a life and atmosphere of its own. Fall into Pieces is certainly a cohesive listen that lets you know this is a Chris Poulson project, but each track could be pulled to enjoy depending on whatever mood you’re feeling.

Don’t get us wrong, we absolutely adored “Break Free”, but the closer “Joyride” was a legitimate shot of adrenaline straight into the veins. Chris’ vocals are filled with energy, but the constant shredding in the background paired with bombastic drum fills left us in a sweat by the end of the listen. With only these tracks to his name at the moment, we’re over here patiently awaiting a follow up anytime in 2022. This is a style of rock music that we tend to prefer in our personal listening, so we’re going to need more ASAP please!
