Chris Pidsley crafts perfect summer EP, "Daisies"
All set for release on July 30th, consider us incredibly lucky because we got a sneak preview of Chris Pidsley’s all new EP, Daisies. You’re not going to want to miss out on this one! Read on for our review and background on the artist.
Written over the past year and a half during the pandemic, Daisies is an all encompassing and heartwarming listen that has legitimately left us with smiles on our faces. For those unfamiliar with Chris Pidsley, he’s a singer and songwriter from Gloucestershire, United Kingdom, who is now representing the music scene in London. Let us make it clear once again that we are in love with everything surrounding this release.
Coming in at 5 beautiful tracks, Pidsley has put together a cohesive record that hits a seemingly infinite amount of highs and possesses a certain warmth throughout as well. Infectious on the vocals, this is a truly inventive piece of indie pop that we’re so happy came across our paths. While it’s definitely laid back and arguably chill at points, there’s some moments on the EP that are a bit more high energy; don’t be surprised if you find yourself moving and grooving during your first listen.
On the opener “Tie Dye T-Shirt”, it’s exactly what we imagine summer feels like, but in song form. You can feel the artist’s influences come through in the form of The 1975 and Rex Orange County, however there’s such an overwhelming amount of originality that this musician has imparted on his own, it’s in a league of its own. What we enjoyed the most was that because it’s an EP, Pidsley has really put his best foot forward when it comes to the music he’s shared. There’s not a single dull moment whatsoever, everything is so inviting and bright, it’s just begging to be listened to.
