Chasu creates a dreamlike state on double singles, "bury me instead"

Dreamy, soulful, and ultimately heartfelt, we’ve quickly fallen in love with this double single release coming from Chasu! Read on with us as we break down our complete thoughts on the tracks, in addition to a background on the artist.

While he’s probably most well known for being the producer to recent 88rising signee Warren Hue, Chasu is delivering and handcrafting absolute beauty of his own. On this latest double single release titled bury me instead, this multi-talented musician is blending together the sweet sounds of hip-hop, complex jazz compositions, and a massive dose of indie pop. If that sounds interesting to you, we highly recommend a closer listen.

Now making waves within the Korean musical landscape, Chasu is no stranger to music in the slightest as he’s been creating since an early age. Starting out with classical piano and graduating to jazz saxophone was only the beginning, but after lots of time and patience, he’s now got an ever growing catalogue of attractive tunes that are simply wonderful to listen to. Even though he’s currently studying at UC Berkeley remotely, all the while making music at his home studio in Seoul, he’s on the path to move to California and continue to get his name out there in a big way.

If these two tracks, “sweet decay” and “seance” have said anything about the artist after our multiple listens, it’s that there’s a seriously pent up amount of talent just waiting to burst out. Whether you fall in love with his serene vocals, crisp production techniques, or a vibrant instrumentation, all music lovers are sure to cherry pick out something that makes them feel good. Even better, there’s a music video (which we’ve linked below) for “sweet decay” that has brought an incredibly necessary real life feeling to the song, it’s also worth your time to watch!

Without giving too much away, there truly isn’t a single negative thing we could say about Chasu’s latest release, there’s just too much greatness presenting itself. Considering he’s typically been on the background of things in production, we’re beyond excited to see where his solo career goes, especially when he’s working on it full time. For now though, we’ve done the easy part and linked everything important below in order for you to listen, watch, and follow along for more. We sincerely hope you enjoy!
