Casey Ahern shares the origin story on single, "The Cows Came Home" - Interview
Displaying all the emotion on her newest heartfelt ballad titled “The Cows Came Home”, we got the chance to catch up with Casey Ahern for a tell all interview. Please check out our conversation in full below.
With the help of some of the best session guitarists in country music, Casey Ahern has successfully orchestrated a song filled with love on “The Cows Came Home”. Co-written with another Nashville-based songwriter named Caitlyn Dykes, the two converged to create an imagery-filled masterpiece that’s bursting with sincerity and originality. From the opening notes on, you immediately get immersed into this utterly relatable story revolving around “the best things happening when we least expect them”. We could not agree more, and with that, we obviously have to recommend you give this one a listen.
During our extended conversation with Casey, she was kind enough to give us the full breakdown of how exactly this song came about, the connection to her significant other Wyatt, and even a glimpse into the future of her music. It’s a conversation we don’t recommend you miss out on, but it’s also a single that fits snugly within her high quality discography. According to Casey on those who are still out there looking for love, she’s said, “It happens when you’re fine with who you are, where you’re at, and being alone. It happens when you think that magic’s gone, you feel so sure you’ve seen it all...”.
Now while there’s certainly a handful of standout moments from our now multiple listens, so much of the greatness comes from the subtleties within the instrumentation. It never overpowers Casey and her vocal abilities, the real star of the show, however the relaxed and calming atmosphere created serves as this beautiful world of sound. There’s plenty of country influences that show themselves from the opening notes and this could even be an introduction for those who are looking to expand their horizons into the genre. This artist has been hard at it in terms of crafting together stunning work, and to no surprise, she’s struck gold once again with “The Cows Came Home”.
