Originally from North Carolina, Brain Self is a country music artist that’s always had a massive passion for music. Performing in church growing up is where he discovered his love for singing, which then turned into uploading videos of himself covering his favorite songs on Instagram. Eventually Off The Row caught on and his official music career started, thankfully so! We are loving “A Change Is Gonna Come” and highly recommend a listen.
Garnering thousands of monthly listeners and streams on Spotify already, you can palpably feel the momentum in which his music is creating for the artist. To be perfectly honest though, we’re not surprised in the slightest as each song has been better than the last. With a diverse and powerful vocal range that Brian Self has shown off so far, his stock is going to continue to rise in the country music scene. You can feel something a little extra special about his music as a whole; it might be that life long passion that comes through in his delivery line after line.
As Brian continues to share these isolated singles, our new hopes and wishes are that he can put together a cohesive EP or even full length album to really showcase a life event or personal experience. Don’t get us wrong, we’ll listen to anything he attaches his name to at this point, but something that outlines or details something major would be much appreciated. We completely understand the music industry has headed the way of single releases, so it’s totally understandable if it doesn’t happen.
Realistically though, singles like “A Change Is Gonna Come” are so hard hitting and give the opportunity for new listeners to discover their potential new favorite country artist. As country music is always trending in one way or another, we feel that Brian Self has everything it takes to become the next big thing. Wholeheartedly, we think you should listen for yourself and be your own judge.
