This double EP, released as two distinct parts, offers a mesmerizing and surreal vision that combines catchy vocal hooks with inventive guitar playing, all within the framework of unconventional tuning systems. Byrnes delivers a rich and exotic sound palette that is rarely heard in pop music.

"Part I" of "Transfigured Earth" is characterized by its organic and loose feel. The tracks here are atmospheric and dreamy, drawing the listener into a lush soundscape where Byrnes’ lovely vocals shine. The production is excellent, with a clear emphasis on creating a super atmospheric environment that envelops the listener. Songs like "Halfway" stand out for their melodic richness and intricate guitar work, which blend seamlessly with the unconventional tunings to create a uniquely captivating sound. The use of microtonality here adds an exotic flavor that is both intriguing and refreshing, setting Byrnes apart from his contemporaries.

Transitioning into "Part II," the album takes on a more electric and intense character. The shift in tone is palpable, with the instrumentation becoming more diverse and the compositions more intricate. This part of the album highlights Byrnes' ability to create cohesive yet distinct musical narratives. Tracks such as "Blue Skies" showcase his skill in blending xenharmonic elements with traditional pop structures, resulting in a sound that is both innovative and accessible. The electric intensity of this half complements the organic looseness of the first part, making the entire album feel like a cohesive journey through different sonic landscapes.

As a whole though, it effortlessly flows and sets tone, showcasing Byrnes' unique approach to music, featuring all the elements that make this album stand out: inventive guitar playing, catchy vocal hooks, and the distinct color palette provided by unconventional tuning systems. The psych rhythms of it all, along with some completely underrated synth work looming in the background and have simply blown our minds with the precision.
