Bo Lavish debuts his breakout EP, Heart of a Lion

Chicago’s own Bo Lavish has just released his fantastic new EP titled, Heart of a Lion, just in time for summer. Read along as we take an in-depth look at the music Lavish has put together, as well as a background on the artist and his life.
Originally from Chicago, Bo Lavish now resides in South Atlanta where he’s currently making waves within the music industry. As of recently, Lavish's debut single, "Won't Change" hit Top 20 Indie Records Leaderboard on Hot 107.9, Atlanta's No. 1 Hiphop Station. Lavish signed a non-exclusive licensing deal with Moore Muzik, an independent record label owned by International Singer-songwriter Tejai Moore. In June 2020, Lavish became a second-time winner on DJ Hollywood's Instagram LIVE Music Review. The accomplishments coming in Lavish’s music career are a direct correlation of how great his music is. Knowing that he’s moving on up in the world of hip hop is no surprise here, he deserves it!
Lavish spent a bit of time in jail, which is really where his music career was revealed. While that may not have been a great situation to be in, self realization was made with all the alone time and Lavish really found his calling.
Coming in at six songs and a total of 16 minutes, Heart of a Lion is a killer EP that has everything you’re looking for in a unique hip hop record. We truly enjoyed what we heard, considering this was our first glimpse into his artistry. His overall flow, hard hitting lyrics, and original beats make for a record you need to check out as soon as physically possible. A record of this kind came just in time for summer, we can certainly see ourselves listening to this poolside as we hang with our friends.
The standout tracks for us were definitely the opener, “Go Get It”, but we also loved “Squash Nothing”, and the album closer, “Next Up”. The EP is the perfect length for keeping things light and original. There’s so much creativity packed into its 16 minute runtime, we’re honestly hoping another project is on its way soon enough! In the meantime though, it’s about time you listened to this fire EP, Heart of a Lion.
