Binx Le Fae stuns on dreamy new single, "Sad Vacation"
Following up her stunning 2020 record Sonder, Binx Le Fae has made her return with a dreamy synth-filled single titled “Sad Vacation”. We are loving it! Read on for our full review of the track, as well as a background on the artist.
Currently based out of the Bay Area in California, Binx Le Fae is an independent artist who has quickly grabbed us with her unique blended style of synthesizers, dreamy pop, and memorable vocal harmonies. On her first release in 2021, this artist has gone above and beyond in creating an atmospheric track that we know we’ll be coming back to frequently. It’s titled “Sad Vacation” and we sincerely can’t wait for you all to give it a listen.
Filled with “honest lyrics and danceable nostalgia”, Binx Le Fae has managed to infuse decades of sound into one isolated single. To say we’ve enjoyed it would be an understatement because the way that she’s delicately produced the song was overwhelmingly impressive. As lo-fi as the vocals were in the mix, they still stood out to us in a way that centered everything around which lyric delivery was going to come next.
Pairing it down to a single sub genre, she’s doing dream pop in a way that is certainly standing out from the rest of the pack. With her vocals being slightly reminiscent of Beach House’s Victoria Legrand, it only added to the overall allure and passion that was brought to the song as a whole. Even though on the vocal side things were a tad bit depressing, because who wants a “Sad Vacation”, we still hung on every single line due to the sheer beauty of it at all.
Atmospheric and the perfect vibe to relax to, we know for the absolute fact that we’ll be digging into her first and second record purely based off how much we enjoyed this song. It’s going to be a fun exploration to see where she’s come from and where she’s ended up, but we have the feeling there’s going to be a ton of gems uncovered once we start listening.
