Betty Moon further revolutionizes her sound on album, "UNDERCOVER"
Somehow getting even better as her already successful career progresses, Betty Moon has just let loose her 11th studio album, UNDERCOVER. Please read on for our glowing review of the record, in addition to a refresher on this talented artist.
Based out of Los Angeles, Betty Moon is a producer and songstress who’s continually evolving her sound into something spectacular. Her latest output UNDERCOVER is a fierce, feisty, and lyrically powerful record that keeps on giving the more you listen. Right from the get go, she comes hot out of the gate with a synth-fueled track and it legitimately only gets better. We can’t wait for everyone out there to give this a complete listen from start to finish.
Released through her own label, A&M Records, Betty’s DIY and original work ethic is so much of what makes her music come across as genuine. You can instantly feel the love and emotion come through in her delivery, but it’s the intensity of the instrumentation and the fact that she always keeps the listener guessing as to what else is going to happen. For us, we considered “Running Up That Hill”, “Gimme Shelter”, and “No Good” to be stand outs, however the cohesion of the album in its entirety is something to behold as well.
Across all these tracks though, so much of what we enjoyed was the fact that Betty will stop at nothing to serve up the theatrics. Any normal artist with an impressive voice can sing a line, but what she’s managed to do directly in her cadence is create something that’s out of the box. Paired with a top tier production and backing effects that liven up the atmosphere, UNDERCOVER feels like the perfect collection of songs to really lose yourself in. Whether you need to be in a good mood, you feel like dancing, or you want to get a bit introspective, there are passages on the album that allow for multiple different moods.
