Ahead of his debut EP, Baschira releases two lovely acoustic singles, "A Capo" and "Il Biondo"

Ahead of his debut EP Zdasdat, releasing next year, Baschira has released his first two teaser tracks, “A Capo” and “Il Biondo”. What wonderful tracks that we thoroughly enjoyed! Read along for our thoughts on the two, as well as a background on the artist as well.
Baschira is currently the project of Amsterdam-based artist, Davide Cristiani. He is a guitarist and songwriter, who also teaches music and works on his music projects during his downtime. The name Baschira is actually the artistic name he chose for this project, based off of Prospero Baschieri (Baschira) who was a brigand who lived in the 19th century in Italy. His actions, narrated by storytellers, became legends over time, the symbol of revolt against injustice and oppression.
While Baschira’s EP Zdasdat isn’t set to release until next year, we’re thrilled that we were able to hear the two tracks that are sure to be featured on it. “Il Biondo” was initially released in March, while “A Capo” saw its debut this past July. All six tracks are set to be sung in Italian, just like the two you’ll be listening to. As non-native speakers of Italian, it was still incredibly enjoyable to listen to and gave us quite the perspective on how the rest of the world operates.
For those who love acoustic guitar based music, you’re going to absolutely love what you hear on these two singles. Baschira’s vocal delivery is soothing and serene in between his stellar guitar playing. While it would be near impossible to choose which single we liked more, we’ll leave it up to the reader to give us your feedback. Both songs were equally beautiful and perfectly executed. The addition of a subtle horns section was also an unexpected surprise that we love to hear in our music as well.
We’re not 100% sure on if there will be more singles released up until the day the EP comes out, but we absolutely hope there is! Baschira’s music was just the type of music we needed in our lives at this point. It was calming, clear, and a straightforward mix of pure talent coming through in just two songs. You can hear the love and care that went into its creation, which leaves us even more looking forward to the EP’s release in the coming months.
