Babyboybbamg excels on his 3rd full length LP, "The Life I chose"

Back at it again with his third full length LP, Babyboybbamg has made his return into 2022 with The Life I chose. Do yourselves a favor and check out our in-depth review on the record, in addition to an update on this always evolving artist.

Following up his last album, V.A.L.E.R.I.E released last year, Babyboybbamg has been staying incredibly consistent thus far with what looks to be a record a year. It wasn’t too long ago that we had the opportunity to speak with him in an interview for 8th Wonder of the World, but thankfully he’s back with his latest The Life I chose. So far, his records have acted as closer looks into his personal life experiences, and with one a year coming, they’ve been successfully acting as updates into a life of an artist that we’ve grown to admire quickly.

On the background of the record, Babyboybbamg was quoted saying, “When rain comes it pour no matter how you want to take it put it tweak it whatever in the poor just get poorer but there's a way out the rain in y’all are my opportunity”. We can basically interpret that by the artist saying to take the opportunities you’re handed and try to capitalize on them in the best way possible. On this seven track record that runs around nineteen minutes, he’s left nothing to the imagination and truly put it all out on the line lyrically. As we’ve been following him around since the debut, you can even here sweeping changes within the production and a more refined sound from start to finish. His flow has always been flawless, but there was a certain cohesiveness around this newest album that begs the listener to click the play button at the beginning to get the full update all the way through.

Kicking things off with “Still Thankful”, he opens up with a reflective track that looks within thematically, all the while crafting an intoxicating beat to resonate with. So much of what we enjoy about his music is that it’s not one note in the sense that you’re only getting a story or something to bob your head to, rather a full package and methodically thought out song. He keeps them short and sweet so as not to overstay their welcome and doesn’t aimlessly throw in filler for the sake of length, which we particularly enjoyed the most. Babyboybbamg has proved yet again he’s on the right path in his music making and we can’t wait for everyone out there to give it a spin as soon as possible, as well as listening to the rest of his albums to familiarize yourselves with.
