Set for release on February 26th, 2021, Cloud Nothings are back with their third full length LP released within a year, titled The Shadow I Remember. We got the opportunity to chat with front man Dylan Baldi to discuss the finer points of not only this record, but everything he’s been up to in the past year. Watch our full interview below.

Following up their 2020 album releases for The Black Hole Understands and Life Is Only One Event, Cloud Nothings are back with a brand new record released via Carpark Records, titled The Shadow I Remember. After sitting with front man Dylan Baldi and getting all the hard hitting details, we think this could potentially one of their best records to date.

Quickly becoming one of rock and roll’s hardest working musicians, Dylan Baldi has used his downtime during this global pandemic quite wisely. With two records being self-released through Bandcamp, the fans have certainly not experienced too much downtime with a band that knows how to crank it to 11.

While we don’t want to give too much away, because we’d much prefer you watch the interview and form your own opinions, the process in which Dylan and the rest of Cloud Nothings put this album together is quite impressive. In addition to our talks on music, we also chatted about what he’s been up to in his downtime, such as book recommendations, shoutouts to rising independent artists, favorite snacks, and so much more.

Additionally, the band returned to Electrical Audio Studios in Chicago, where they were re-joined by super producer, Steve Albini. Coincidentally this is where they recorded their most notable album Attack on Memory, that truly took them to the next level in terms of notoriety in the noise rock space. With the return of Albini though, the band have found a comfortability in which he guides the overall sound, which is why we’re overly confident this record could be noted as one of their best in a long while.

Wrapping it up though, we were thrilled at the opportunity to speak with a living rock legend, and really do hope to have conversations for years to come as the band continue to dominate their genre.
