Babe Rainbow Talk All New Music at Desert Daze 2022
A few hours prior to their hypnotic and immensely beautiful show at Desert Daze Festival, we got the chance to catch up with Babe Rainbow for a short but sweet interview. We talked about all things touring, the Australian music scene, and so much more. Watch our full interview below.
If for some reason you happen to be out of the loop, Babe Rainbow have been putting together some of our favorite slow jams consistently over the years. Describing themselves during our discussion as “folk disco”, the band is always aiming to reinvent their sound yet keep that signature essence that makes them stand out from the rest of the pack. With a new album announced and a lead single titled “All The Power” just shared, now’s the perfect time to familiarize yourself with a seriously fantastic band.
As for the band’s actual set, they played at easily the best stage at the festival called The Block. With unbelievable visuals that were vibrant, colorful, and ideally set the tone for a wonderful show, Babe Rainbow confidently got on stage to a sea of peaceful festival goers eagerly awaiting. With so many superb albums under their collective belts, it’s actually becoming difficult to try to guess a setlist because all the songs would fit the vibe so well. Ripping through our personal favorites from Changing Colours, Today, and Double Rainbow, it was an all out dance set that left us sweating with massive smiles across our faces.
You could tell the fans from the non fans based on who was actually singing or not, but we can say now that it felt like a ton of people just found their new favorite band. There’s such a genuine and raw feeling that Babe Rainbow have attached to their music, it’s oozing with originality and purity that makes you feel great and want to lie down to truly take it all in. The band are currently gearing up for tour, so we’d recommend that you take the time and explore their discography, in addition to grabbing a ticket wherever they might be playing. Don’t miss them! Love forever!
