Austin Locals, Annabelle Chairlegs, Rock Out at Levitation Festival 2023
Up and coming Austin locals Annabelle Chairlegs kicked off Levitation festival in their hometown this weekend and set a great tone for the psych fest. Guitarist and lead singer Lindsey Mackin appeared on stage decked out in colorful striped pants and “candy apple red” shoes, an ode to a song from their 2020 album, Gotta Be in Love.
The band focused their energy on playing tracks primarily from that album and didn’t hesitate to extend some of their bluesy jams. Mackin’s classic raspy vocals lent a feisty energy to the crowd, and she dawned a mischievous grin throughout the night as she confidently graced the stage. Mackin is joined by Derek Vaughan Nunez Strahan on bass and Nick Cornetti on drums.
The band’s DIY roots led them to gain familiarity in the Austin music scene and they definitely put on a worthwhile performance symbolic of 60’s rock and roll. The crowd was left blushing at the end of the set, and they were prepped and ready for upcoming artists to share the same stage and more throughout the city. We highly recommend that you get to an Annabelle Chairlegs show in a city near you as soon as possible! Don’t miss out!
Easily one of the biggest standouts from Austin’s Levitation Festival, and with that being said, we urge you to give them a spin and check out our photo gallery below to get a taste of what you may have missed.
