Yves Tumor Brings Their Eclectic Live Show to The Wiltern in LA

We’ve seen a lot of shows here in LA but the Yves Tumor show on Thursday night at The Wiltern was one of the most interesting shows we’ve ever seen.  Everything from the general uniform of the fans to their performance was unlike anything we have seen before.

After an eclectic cast of opening bands, Yves Tumor took the stage in a storm and like bolts of lightning, electrified us fans with God is a Circle, Echolalia, and In Spite Of War.  These three tracks are all from Yves’ new album, “Praise a Lord Who Chews But Does Not Consume; (Or Simply, Hot Between Worlds), but you would not have been able to guess that based on the way that the fans had all the lyrics memorized to sing along.

This album from March 2023 is Yves’ 5th studio album and made up a solid chunk of this Thursday night setlist which was comprised of over 20 songs! The band was made up of Yves out front in a motorcycle jacket, a neck pillow, and no pants, with 2 electric guitarists, a bass player, and a drummer behind them.

The band did such a good job translating the uniquely Yves studio sound into a live performance with specific emphasis on Yves’ voice which sounds exactly like it does recorded.  Some of our other highlights from the show included the dynamic Meteora Blues, Lovely Sewer, and Gospel For A New Century.

Yves Tumor is just finishing up their US portion of tour with 2 more chances to see them in the states before they head off to Europe for another leg of tour.  The energy at the live show was palpable; the sound was excellent and the energy from all the fans was captivating.  If you havent listened to Yves Tumor, we dont have much to compare it to as it is so uniquely original but we highly suggest checking out “Hot Between Worlds” and getting out to a show whenever you can.

Do yourselves a massive favor and grab tickets to the next show, but get a taste of what’s to come by enjoying our full photo gallery of the event below as well. Enjoy!
