Wet Leg Preview Their Debut Album at Los Angeles' The Echo
Not too often do we get to see a band hailing from the Isle of Wight, and we were absolutely not disappointed at the end of the night. Selling out one of most well known venues on the Eastside of Los Angeles, the British indie band, Wet Leg, delivered an incredibly energetic and thrilling show at The Echo.
Fans arrived early to get their spot to enjoy the openers Fake Fruit who delivered a kick-ass set and quite literally set the stage for their friends, Wet Leg. As we made our way to the front of the crowd, the excitement was palpable and anticipation was in the air for the main attraction to commence.
Wet Leg kicked off their on a high note with “Too Late Now” and showed the sold out Echo crowd that they came to have a good time. “It’s Not Fun” followed, leading into a fan-favorite, “Ur Mum”. The fans cheered immediately as they realized that “Wet Dream” was next on the setlist. Singing along to every word, you felt as if you were one of the 5 band members on stage and we couldn’t see a face without a huge grin during the performance of the single.
As they continued, getting more and more comfortable with the crowd and the crowd shouting compliments to the lead singer, Rhian Teasdale, we felt the unique bond between band and fan starting to form.
They concluded their set with “Oh No, Being in Love, Angelica”, and finally closing out the night with the much anticipated “Chaise Longue”. We can’t remember the last time we experienced a finale as exciting as “Chaise Longue”…the call and response from the audience felt almost rehearsed. In addition to the entire room seemingly knowing every single word of the song, they knew exactly when to start, stop, and lose their minds. You could feel the floor rattle and couldn’t help but nod your head and shake your booty during the epic closer that Wet Leg delivered.
With their debut album Wet Leg on the way for 2022, everyone got a sneak preview into the band before their meteoric rise, it was a special night. We can’t wait till they make their way back to Los Angeles and if they happen to stop near a city you live in, don’t hesitate, grab a ticket!
