Parcels Bring All The Energy at LA's Hollywood Palladium

Playing the largest occupancy show of their career so far, Parcels delivered one of the most high energy and dance-filled shows we’ve ever witnessed. For a moment in time, the best place to be on Planet Earth was Los Angeles’ Hollywood Palladium. Please check out our full concert review and photo gallery below to properly relive the night.

Opening the show up and setting the tone for the evening was Mildlife, an ideal sound and vibe to kick us off. As they revved up the crowd with their psychedelic jazz, they got the crowd loose quickly for what would be the main event. Walking out to the stage, taking it all in, and waving to the crowd as well, Parcels manned the stations for what would be nearly two straight hours of their uplifting, vibrant, and restorative music.

While we were in the photo pit for the first three tracks, we needed to remind ourselves to actually take pictures and not jam out. However, the band started off slow with the first few tracks off 2021’s Day/Night to get everyone in the mood. Joining in four part harmonies, dancing on stage, and building the energy was really just the half of it. You quickly forget how many songs you know until you realize that legitimately every single song is a hit. Jumping from “Free” to “Comingback” to “Theworstthing”, it’s like we needed an emotional break as much as they did.

One thing we feel the need to point out is that we’ve attended many shows at the Hollywood Palladium, but this by far was the most lively we’ve ever seen the venue. There wasn’t a single person in the sea of 5,000 that wasn’t dancing or grooving the night away. We’re well aware Parcels’ music is built to sort of lose yourself in, but honestly every single person had the biggest smile on their faces. We made our way around the venue trying to capture different vantage points and it was all the same no matter where you stood. The electricity was immense and it’s a night we’ll remember for the rest of our lives.

Continuing on, they really surprised us by extending some of their songs by such a long time! We’re all for bands experimenting with their own music, but wow, we didn’t know we needed 10+ minute versions of some track until we experienced it first hand. While they’ve only got two proper albums, Day/Night and the self-titled Parcels, it’s wild that they’re achieving this success so early on in their career. We’re going to fondly think back to this day, because it’s most likely going to be one of the smaller venues they’ll play in years going forward.
