Faye Webster Sells Out Lollapalooza After Show at Chicago's The Vic

Following the release of her fifth studio album, Underdressed at the Symphony, American singer Faye Webster makes a stop in anticipation of her almost entirely sold out U.S./Canada tour in Chicago, IL for Lollapalooza weekend. Ahead of her performance at the festival, she played a show at the famous Chicago theatre, The Vic, on Thursday, August 1st, to a sold out crowd.

The 27 year old, originally from Atlanta Georgia, became a viral sensation, securing herself an adoring fanbase that ran straight from Lollapalooza to her official aftershow, buzzing with excitement from the moment they lined up at the door.

Saturated light set the scene for the night both inside and out of the venue, seeing blue and pink lights flood the sides of the venue’s streets as you approach the building. The set is filled with racks of blue denim (to match her most recently released album cover art) with blue light to match. Fans gasped as bubbles and ethereal vocals filled the room at the start of her viral hit, Right Side of My Neck. Overpowering the room with her layered instrumental arrangements and enticing yet laidback aura, fans’ eyes didn’t leave the stage once she walked on.

Webster turns iconic venues into intimate, dive bar-like performances with her ability to relax a crowd. Generating a sonic soundscape to fill the room, Faye entrances audience members as she pays homage to her country roots, contrasting with an alternative and hip-hop-inspired production style.

Opening the evening was Benét, a singer-songwriter based in Richmond, VA, who’s vocal power was immaculate, with a warm sense of humor to match. If you get the opportunity to see Faye, without a doubt, it’s a transcendent and cannot miss show!
