Everything Everything Tear Through the Hits at Glasgow's SWG3
We traveled all the way from Los Angeles to Glasgow, Scotland to see Everything Everything play at SWG3, and let us confidently tell you it was worth the journey! Ripping through old and unreleased hits from their upcoming record RAW DATA FEEL, we can confidently say that they’re even better live than we could have ever imagined. Please read on for our complete recap of the night, as well as a full photo gallery below.
Nothing in life is certain, so if you’re not sure if one of your favorite bands will ever make it to the USA, you best get on a plane and see them when you can. With that being said, the energy was palpably high at one of Glasgow’s newest venues, SWG3 Warehouse. Intimate in its feel, but packed to the walls with eager concert goers, the night was kicked off by openers Do Nothing who put on an incredibly memorable opening set.
It wasn’t too long ago that we interviewed lead singer Jonathan Higgs about RAW DATA FEEL, we just can’t believe that this night eventually came to fruition. As for the actual show, and not include too many spoilers for those who’ve got tickets for the rest of the dates on their tour, but the band puts on a live set like we’ve never seen. Somehow translating their dynamic production from the records into real life, they take iconic sounds and make you feel like you’re experiencing them within the album. We’re not quite sure if that makes sense, but the sounds and styles are so dense you’re in constant shock they’re able to pull it off.
During our interview with Jonathan, one of our questions was how they’d manage to formulate a set list nowadays considering their growing discography. The band played around 20 songs including an encore and so delicately picked fan favorites spanning all the way back to the beginning. Our personal favorites were the tracks off of A Fever Dream and Get To Heaven, however there were a bunch of songs off of RAW DATA FEEL played such as “Pizza Boy” and “Jennifer”. What we will say is that they were beyond lovely, and with the record coming in May, everyone out there should be excited for the impending release.
A closing statement here would really be to say that if you’ve never listened to Everything Everything, start today. If you’re lucky enough to be in a city where they come to and play a show, grab a ticket as well! We’ve included all the important links below to stay up to date and to listen. Don’t miss out on our photo gallery either. Enjoy!
