Bruno Major Serenades the Crowd at SLC's The Depot
Lindsey Lomis stunned the whole crowd with her vocal runs and other vocal talent at this show at the depot in Salt Lake City, Utah. Lomis had a full circle moment opening for Bruno Major on this tour as she did the same in 2017 after she won a singing competition on social media. She had no band to accompany her set using only her electric guitar and a loop pedal set with a few vocal accompaniments. While her skill was represented early on in her set, there were times where she had multiple runs very close together that showed how comfortable she is with it but I would have loved to hear her hold a few notes instead of adding a vocal run. Have we met a new guitar hero similar to John Mayer? With her riff skills, it’s definitely possible.
Bruno Major. The man needs no introduction. His lyrics and Melodie’s are sure to stick in your head and leave a lasting impact on your music listening experience. His set design included a rug that he stood on for most of the show. This small effort made us all feel at home and comfortable with everyone around us. Everyone had something in common and that brought them together to appreciate and bond over our many emotions tied to Bruno’s music. Major was able to include some comedy in his discussions with the crowd between his songs and tie it right back to more emotions and memories.
One of the best moments of this concert was seeing couples and friends dancing together during the set. Some were swaying back and forth, some slow dancing, some swing dancing, but it was clear that most people came with someone they care about. We all have songs on our playlists that feel so intense, almost addicting in a way. Bruno Major most definitely has a talent for creating a song that will stick in your mind and make your body relax just because of the composition all together.
What an incredible concert. So much emotion and memories were brought back to us, maybe unwanted for some but most definitely needed. The stars through our phones shined bright, and will continue to shine as long as Bruno Major is around.
