Vegas Day Trip crank it way up on 2nd EP, "Last Call"
Fresh off the release of a high energy EP titled Last Call, we’re sincerely loving everything about Vegas Day Trip’s newest effort. Please read on for our full thoughts on the record, as well as a background on the band.
Currently based out of Austin, Texas, Vegas Day Trip a trio that are expertly crafting a hard rock sound that’s fueled with a ton of passion. On this newest and their second overall EP called Last Call, they’ve delivered their finest to old and new fans who are looking for a slightly aggressive yet edgy showing. This type of music is right up our alley, so we typically “judge” a little bit harder, however they’ve truly gone above and beyond for our typical expectations.
Coming in at four total tracks, spanning right around 20 minutes in length, we quickly found that there were no holds barred in either quality nor filler. While it feels like so many bands these days are filling up records with way too many pointless songs and sounds for the streams, we’re thrilled that Vegas Day Trip has done the opposite and shared only their best for a quick and succinct listen. Each song feels like this fully fleshed out universe and takes you to a place of high octane energy. We’re always looking to rock out in some capacity, so this was exactly what we needed.
While it would honestly be difficult to pick out a favorite from the lineup of four songs as they all flowed together seamlessly, we’ll recommend you give it a all a thorough listen. A sentiment that we will point out is just how amazing this would be to witness in a live setting! We find ourselves in Austin quite frequently actually, so we’re not sure if the band is touring, but getting to see “Promises” live feels like it could be a transcendent experience in our musical lives.
