Rachel Hill teases her album with an outstanding single, "Ice Cubes"
Teasing an all new single off her upcoming record, Rachel Hill has given us goosebumps with the release of “Ice Cubes”. Please read on for our full review of the track, as well as a much needed background on this artist.
Freshly released on March 11th, Rachel Hill has put her vocals first on this dynamic new single she’s titled “Ice Cubes”. Lyrically powerful and sonically innovative, she immediately transports the listener into the atmospheric world of sound and style that she’s crafted. As this was our first introduction to the artist, she’s certainly over delivered in our eyes, but more importantly has us thrilled for what’s to come once the full album releases.
At just a tad under three minutes in runtime, Rachel doesn’t waste a single moment quickly immersing the listener into her story. As a classically trained artist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, she’s truly put all of her skills on display for the entire world to enjoy. We found the song to be minimalistic in its instrumentation, however given the serious tone, anything extra could’ve potentially detracted from her voice being the constant. On the production, a real suggestion we’d give is to listen on a nice pair of headphones to fully feel just how expansive the sound really is.
Considering she’s already built a reputation for herself around the London music scene as quite the performer, we sincerely hope it’s time for her to hit the road and show everyone else her capabilities. Witnessing this song specifically in a live setting would be otherworldly, it’s honestly difficult to imagine seeing it and not getting overly emotional. She carries such a strong weight with just her vocals and they almost act as if they’re another instrument in the band. As you know, there’s so much more to come, which means we can’t help but urge you all to follow along for more.
