Leuca gets intimate on latest track, "delicate"
Back with his first single of 2021, Leuca has beyond impressed us with the latest release of “delicate”. Do yourselves a huge favor and read along with us for our full featured review of the track, as well as a background on this talented artist.
From Long Island, New York, Leuca is the work of John Welsh who is quickly growing his reputation as a singer, songwriter, and producer. Engineering hypnotic R&B music within his discography, he’s been singing since the ripe age of 5. It wasn’t until he was 17 that he put out his first indie project, “Soul [o]”, but since then his stock has continued to rise.
Receiving a placement on the BET TV show “Being Mary Jane” was a major milestone for the artist. Continuing to pump out amazing tunes is what he’s continued on his path as an artist and succeeding at, but with this newest single “delicate”, he’s absolutely blown us away with everything it’s covered and presented. Thankfully in this last year, Leuca has had more than enough time to get busy on the producing end and “delicate” is just the first taste of what we can expect from this year so far.
Our first impressions of “delicate” were the immediate realization, and for lack of a better word, how actually delicate the song sounds itself. What is mainly an acoustic singer and songwriter performance, quickly becomes a truly intimate experience as Leuca sits the listener down for an up close and personal experience that feels like it’s just you and him. Lyrically forward and filled with vivid imagery among the story he’s telling, you really can’t help but immediately be sucked in by each and every word he’s communicating.
Having loved every single second of “delicate”, we couldn’t help but feel the need to dig into the rest of his discography immediately after. Considering this was our first listen to the music of Leuca, it’s absolutely not going to be our last! Starting from the beginning and hearing the evolution of his sound is definitely going to be a treat, but the real fun is going to begin when we continue to watch his career blossom with each subsequent release.
We don’t want to give too much away because we’d prefer you listen for yourselves, but this is a track you need to get into as soon as possible. You’re virtually guaranteed to fall in love with the vocals on the song, as they were the clear standout, but atmospherically everything else is just as impressive. Do yourselves that favor we mentioned and get listening!
