Left Of The Slash share nostalgic single "Call On" ahead of debut LP

Ahead of their debut full length album releasing later this year, Left Of The Slash are back with a nostalgic sound on their latest single, “Call On”. We are loving it! Read along for our in-depth review into the track, as well as a background on the band.

Based out of Los Angeles, California, Left Of The Slash are an alternative rock trio created by band member, Stephen Reid Nemeroff back in 2005. Featuring a handful of sounds pulled from subgenres like psychedelic rock, blues, punk, and more, the band has certainly imparted a signature style on the music you’ll be hearing. For fans of Pink Floyd, The Pixies, Yo La Tengo, and the like, this is certainly a band you should be listening to.

As their debut album WON gets prepped for release, this is just one of the many singles that’s planned to be shared ahead of time. Ahead of this single though, Nemeroff gave a bit of much needed background in which he said, “The lyrics for the song were writing in two different years, the second part was written in 2005 and the first part was actually finished in 2020. The full instrumentals were composed in a way that makes one feel vulnerable and gain strength as the song progresses. Leaving you feeling free to live your life without second guessing your choices.”

Now having listened multiple times at this point, we’ve come to the clear conclusion that we’re beyond excited for the actual record to release. As lovers of all their influences and that nostalgic 90’s sound we continue to long for, “Call On” has scratched a much needed itch for us. Filled with inventive and complex bass lines, highs and lows of sound, and some sweet surprises in tempo, this one has proven to be a winner.

Seeing as though “Call On” appears to be the third single ahead of WON, and listening to those on repeat as well, the record is shaping up to be something really special. So many excellent producers, engineers, and talented musicians have had a part in the band’s evolution, it’s honestly become too big to fail.

At about five minutes even in run time, the track gives you everything you need as a fan of rock and roll. When it comes to personal tastes, we’re not looking for anything in particular to stand out, however it’s fully complete and cohesive tracks like these that bring you back to a different time. It’s those types of songs that take the best parts of the past, mix it up with the modern, and ultimately leave you wanting more. That right there is Left Of The Slash.

With all that being said, get into this and get listening to “Call On”. For all things Left Of The Slash, to listen, and to keep up with all future releases and information, please check out the following links below.
