Displaying an outrageous amount of talent and originality, ZORILA have completely nailed the final product on their newest EP, Addison. We are loving it! Keep reading for a closer look into the record, as well as a background on this burgeoning band.

Currently representing the Chicago music scene, ZORILA are an indie rock band consisting of Stewart Arp (vocals, guitar), Henry Arp (bass, vocals), Nate Finn (guitar), and Anthony Hish (Drums). Working their way up over the past three years, sharing a debut album titled Sidney, and finally rightfully progressing in their career, they’ve just shared their newest EP Addison that has been on constant repeat since it got sent our way. If for some reason you’re just discovering their greatness now, well, you’re in for a serious treat.

Coming in at four total tracks spanning right around thirteen minutes in length, Addison is serving as this bite size piece of artistic beauty and musical genius, seriously. As indie rock lovers ourselves, we tend to “judge” music a little bit harder due to our personal preferences. However, having listened through multiple times now, ZORILA has truly perplexed us in their aim to think outside of the box and continuously hit euphoric highs throughout this record. They kick things off with the perfect representation of their sound on “Honey”, filling your ears with unique vocal passages, inventive instrumentation, and a surprising amount of horns to give a real complexity. There’s plenty of influence coming in from other similar acts doing it right nowadays, but still they’ve managed to create something entirely different from what we initially expected.

Considering that the band collectively quit their jobs to chase their dreams and record this record, we can confidently say they’ve made the right decision. You can feel the immense amount of passion, love, and sincerity that comes through on every single song. It’s not something that can be taught, rather a genuine feeling that you experience. Through these four songs though, it’s legitimately difficult to pick a favorite as they’re all standouts in their own right. It’s an album experience that deserves to be enjoyed untouched from beginning to end and we honestly hope to hear a follow up that follows in Addison’s footsteps in the very near future.

While we patiently wait, please go ahead and listen to this as soon as you can. Additionally, we’ve included the links below to follow them on their social media in order to keep up with all major news. Enjoy!
