XIXI shares a remarkable instrumental EP & NFT for "Boog"
Celebrating its official release today on February 22, 2022, XIXI has released his first EP ever titled Boog. Please read on for a closer look at the record, in addition to a background on the artist.
Currently based out of Washington DC, XIXI (pronounced eleven eleven) has blown our expectations because his EP Boog is an instrumental wonder that we haven’t been able to get enough of. With an NFT of the record dropping on OpenSea on release day, it’s set to include a signed physical cassette tape of the release as well. Take it from us, this is an album worth investing in and something that we’re highly recommending for all lovers of top tier produced music.
Coming in at 22 minutes total, XIXI immediately transports the listener to his atmospheric world of booming bass, quirky samples, and a whole lot of passion. His intentions for this record are to “take the listener on a tour of different sections of Prince George’s County, Maryland” via music. Seriously though, as soon as you hit the play button not knowing what to expect in the slightest, this artist has used his platform to instantly make a statement. For us at least, getting into an instrumental album usually takes a little longer as it has to be more impressive for us to be hooked. In this case though, it took all of a minute for our focus to fully shift to the greatness of the sound and style.
Considering this is a debut coming from XIXI, we honestly didn’t really know what to expect. With that being said though, it appears that he’s already found a specific sound and niche that works effortlessly for him. We loved each individual track on Boog, but also want to put out the recommendation to listen to it from start to finish as opposed to skipping around. You can feel the context and the themes come through so much more and the EP slowly unravels as you keep listening. Legitimately, we know for a fact we’ll be coming for further listens.
