Fresh off the release of her debut EP titled Daddy Wounds, it was only right that we brought on Jackee from Wolfstang in for a full breakdown of the record. Please check out our interview with the artist below.

It wasn’t too long that we first reviewed her debut single “Bad Habit”, but fast forward nearly a month and Wolfstang has dropped a series of tracks in an EP called Daddy Wounds that has simply taken us by hold. Blending together so many different genres, but rooted in country, we found this record to have versatility in whether you feel like you need to rock out, get introspective, or require a nice jolt of energy. The cherry on top though was sitting with Jackee and hearing her thoughts as she took us on a journey through each song.

While our conversation certainly revolved around the music and its inspirations, it was also an eye opening experience into the artist behind the music. It’s always preferable when anyone opens up because it gives a better grasp on the “struggle”, but hearing Jackee’s personal experiences and how they directly translated to each track was priceless. We’ll leave it a mystery for now so you can listen or watch yourselves, but it’s what took this interview from good to great.

As for the record itself, our only introduction beforehand was through “Bad Habit”, however each song after takes on a world and sound of its own. We spoke about it in-depth, but typically a Wolfstang has a country base and then generally branches off into classic rock, blues, Americana, and more. That’s why we’ve come to love this record is because it’s not just a one note listen, rather a collection of songs that hold their own personalities and little atmospheres the more you listen. The moods definitely change, but from start to finish it’s got that signature feel that makes it feel whole. A recommendation here would be to crank it up and let it run uninterrupted for the full listening experience.

With all that being said though, let us urge you to check out those links below in order to listen, follow along, and of course to keep up with the eventual follow up. From the sound of it, there’s plenty more on the way.
