Lucid Letters and W0lfpak collaborate on synthwave single, "Traveling"
Seeing its official release on February 12th, 2021, W0lfpak and Lucid Letters have collaborated on a new single, which we’re loving, titled “Traveling”. Please read along with us as we share our thoughts on the track, as well as a background on the artists.
Having reviewed Lucid Letter’s EP We Are Now in the past, we already knew this collaboration single was going to be huge, which it was. After searching through Instagram hashtags, Lucid Letters found W0lfpak, listened and immediately loved his work. Turns out they both loved each others music and thus a collaboration was in the works.
After sending over the stems for “Traveling”, Lucid Letters began writing the lyrics, crafted a lovely chorus, and went big on showcasing her dynamic vocal range from start to finish. According to the artist, the song is “about doing the hard work of finding out who you are and what you're meant to be doing, because we're all headed the same way, we're all going to die one day. As it happened, the original title of 'Traveling' worked really well, so we kept it as is.”
Mixing the moodiness and downtempo synthwave styles of W0lfpak and pairing the lush and emotional vocas of Lucid Letters, a beautiful collaboration between two blossoming artists was born, and we couldn’t be more thrilled about it. As mentioned, we’ve dove into the one of the artists, but after being enthralled with what we’ve heard on “Traveling”, it’s time for a deep dive of W0lfpak.
Now we don’t want to get too ahead of ourselves here, because we’re fine just enjoying what we’ve got, but a continuation of singles, an EP, or even more would be absolutely incredible if these two minds could continue on and work with each other. Clearly they’re on the same wavelength of making music, and what the world needs now is love and collaboration with a positive feel to it. Having listening over and over at this point, it really just does get better with each listen and we highly recommend you stream it immediately.
We’ll continue on to listen to each artist separately, but we’ll also be secretly crossing our fingers there’s more going on behind the scenes. For now though, “Traveling” will be on repeat. Enjoy!
