VNA hits all the high notes on lovely debut single, "You"

Currently representing the music scene in Melbourne, VNA is a singer, songwriter, and emerging artist who has just shared her first official single, “You”. After being cooped up during multiple lockdowns, VNA decided the best time to pursue her career in music would be now. We’re so thankful she did, because this wonderful hybrid of R&B and Soul turned out exquisitely. At this time, we are highly encouraging all to give it a listen as soon as you can.
Influenced by the likes of Umi, Aaradhna, Sabrina Claudio, and so many more, VNA has taken things into her own hands and managed to carve out something incredibly special for herself. While the production and instrumentation side of things stayed relatively stripped back, yet still intriguing, her vocals were 100% the star of the show here. On this nearly three minute track, the artist presents her complex story and message in such a captivating and beautiful way, it really makes you want to endlessly start it over and listen again.
On the background of “You”, VNA let us know it’s “a song about love in its purest form. It's an expression of the intensity of love but on the flipside, the uncertainty of love. It's about a girl who is so in love and she believes that through time, space and the whole quantum that he is the one and she just wants to know if he feels the same way". It’s not a difficult task to make those connections by listening closely, however it always helps so much when the musician provides that important insight.
Even better though is that VNA has already stated there’s more music on the way with an EP in mind. To be completely honest because “You” was so instantly perfect to us, we sincerely can’t wait to hear what an entire record will sound like. Seeing as though this song featured an ideal atmosphere, mood, and laid back vibe to it, we’re positive a collection of songs is going to deliver that same effect. No rush to the artist though, we know these things take time.
