Vaya release astounding short film music video for "Sexual"

Debuting their incredibly impressive musical short film, Vaya have just shared the full video for “Sexual”. Please read along with us for our full thoughts on the film, in addition to some fantastic news regarding its release.
Before we fully get into it, the band let us know that “Sexual” just won the Best Music Video at the Montreal Independent Film Festival, so a massive congrats to Vaya. If that isn’t enough to get you to scroll down already and watch it for yourself, then we honestly don’t know what is. With that being said though, we’ll still break down our thoughts on their massive accomplishments.
Like most short films, they’re typically straight to the point with a mix of original music and multiple plot points to make things interesting. Vaya have chosen to go a different route though that we absolutely loved. From the get go of the film, it is jam packed with suspense and drama. Before the music even comes in, we were glued to the screen with a wondering of what could possibly come next.
As soon as the music entered, we were sold. It was equal parts cinematic, dramatic, with flairs of originality from the band that clearly made them the front runners to win this award. As much as we’d love to walk you frame by frame throughout the nine minute film, there’s just too many spoilers that we’d like to avoid giving away, so we’ll leave the watching to you.
What we will let you know is that the isolated music, apart from the film, is exquisitely fantastic. While we’re not sure which came first, the film or the music, we will say that the music was crafted in such a way that it needed to be set to film. The themes and atmospheres, in addition to the overall aesthetics of the video, are begging for music just like this to be accompanied to it. I hope we’re not overhyping it, but we can absolutely assure you it’s worth your time to sit and watch closely.
Wrapping things up, you won’t be upset by watching. It’s inspiring and it’ll open your world up a little more than you thought it could be, so enjoy!
