Tyler Elden closes out 2022 on a high note with "Our Good Name"
Closing out his sensational 2022 with an impactful and heartfelt new single “Our Good Name”, Tyler Elden has truly served up something on a high note. Read on as we share our thoughts on the track, in addition to an update on this artist.
It’s been a month to the day since we last reviewed Tyler Elden’s previous single “Trial By Fire” and he’s kept his word as he’s continued on with his monthly singles collection. In this case though, he’s actually brought on a collaborator in Katie from the Philadelphia-based band, The Lunar Year, as well as Matt Weber (production) and Christopher Hawthorne (engineer). Together, they’ve illuminated themselves as performers with a piece of real beauty that delicately shows off their endless collective talents. We’re urging everyone to close your personal year out with a loud listen.
On the background of it all, “Our Good Name” is a song that “tells the downtrodden story of a family being cast out of their community, and the future of an unborn child”. One constant that we’ve found thus far in Tyler’s music is his ability to paint a clear picture within his words. Although you’re certainly immersed into the instrumentation and grandiose feeling of the production, it’s really what has made his music feel so well rounded. It’s got those ideal melodic hooks that make you want to learn the words and sing along, however there’s legitimate substance instead of manufactured stories being told. We’re major fans of the slightly harder rock sound that was achieved here, but it gets elevated even more when you feel the immense passion coming through in the lyricism.
How one artist manages to crank out such greatness month after month is a feat in its own, but it’s almost as if Tyler and company saved the best to close out the year. The more that we’ve listened to this in particular, the more that it’s continued to sort of blow us away with everything that’s hiding in the mix as well. For us though, this is going to be our last review of the year, so it was only right that we ended it on a positive note with “Our Good Name”!
