Tully John & Liza-Jane produce intimate new single, "Hunger"
With a second studio EP getting set for release, Tully John & Liza-Jane have just put forth yet another fantastic addition to their discography with “Hunger”. Read along with us as we share our complete thoughts on the track, as well as a background on their musical project.
Hailing from the Gold Coast in Australia, Tully John & Liza-Jane are a singer songwriter duo who are keeping it real within their music. Blending up the sounds of folk, with glimmers of ambience and a sense of focus, we couldn’t help but instantly become mesmerized with their latest single “Hunger”. We are highly recommending a listen as soon as you can.
Inspired by the likes of Damien Rice, Justin Vernon, and Ben Howard, the duo are expertly curating songs based around the heart, soul, love, loss, travels, and homeland. As beautiful as the actual music may sound, it’s worth the extra bit of focus in order to break down the deep seated lyricism in which they’re displaying. If you happen to be lucky enough to live in Australia at the moment, they’re currently on tour with Hollow Coves, so you may get to witness this live sooner rather than later.
Even better though, they’ve just gone from a 2 piece to a 4 piece, adding on a drummer and additional electric guitarist/keyboard player to the repertoire. As grand and vibrant as their recorded sound is with just two, we can only imagine the musical frisson that will pass through the bodies that get to see it all in action.
As mentioned, the band’s got a lot more tunes on the way, but we do have to confidently say we think it’s going to be unbelievably difficult to top “Hunger”. It’s not often we vibe so hard so fast with a song like this, but there really was something overtly special about our first listen through. It’s intimate, warming, and makes it feel like it’s being played directly to you. Truly, it’s so worthy of your listening, as well as the rest of the music that Tully John & Liza-Jane have released thus far.
Without giving too much else away, our parting message here is to keep a close eye on this project. With so much else in the works that’s planning to come out in the coming weeks and months, it will be worth your time to check out the links below where you can not only listen, but follow along for all the important updates. We hope you enjoy as much as we did!
