Back with his first single in nearly two years, Travis Bowers has delivered big with the fresh release of “Fishin in the Dark”. Please read on for a closer look at the track, in addition to an update on this talented artist.

Known as the Rain Man of Piano, and for good reason, Travis Bowers’ newest single “Fishin in the Dark” is an absolute blast led by infinite riffs and a whole lot of grooves. Playing in a style that we were previously unaware of called “Slip Note” it’s a purposeful mix of accidental notes that are corrected quickly to “resolve the melody”. We’ve sincerely enjoyed this listen and have to overwhelmingly recommend a listen as soon as you can.

Featuring intense drum fills that help to bring a much needed edge and allure into the mix, Travis immediately gets the listener involved by starting out hot. With his skills dating back to when he started playing at the age of 5, it’s no surprise either that his fanbase has been steadily growing as well. While we mentioned that it’s been a little bit since his last release, the quality certainly hasn’t lacked over the past couple years. If anything, compared to his previous singles like “The Last Storm” or “Blue Dreams”, this feels tighter and with an even greater purpose.

At just a little under three minutes in length, “Fishin in the Dark” holds its intensity and doesn’t let up, but there’s still enough variance in the composition to hold your attention as well. Slip Note is an incredibly unique style that deserves an exploration on its own, but it was also a potential fault due to us noticing the multiple slip ups. After learning more about it and realizing its purpose, it honestly makes Travis look better in the long run due to it’s difficult to perfect. With all that being said though, we’re already hoping for a follow up coming sooner rather than later, but if this is your introduction to the artist, then we hope you check out his tunes immediately.
