Seeing its official release on November 18th, we got the wonderful opportunity to preview Toni Jones’ newest single, “Me Vs Every Me (Affirmations of Self Love)”. Please read on for our positive review of her track, in addition to a background on this talented artist.
Partly a tool for her listeners, but communicated in a profound way, Toni Jones has provided life lessons wrapped up in an intoxicatingly beautiful song, “Me Vs Every Me (Affirmations of Self Love)”. What is sort of a blend between an R&B beat and a spoken word vocal delivery, she’s managed to create something incredibly powerful during the process. Centered around her striking lyricism, everyone should be pre-saving this song as soon as they can.
Released via Kill The King Productions, the thought process behind this song was to imagine the relationship between Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones, mainly around the energies they exude. However what was created is a heartfelt listening experience that has not only helped to heal Toni, but to extend a helping hand to others. Considering Toni is a life coach in addition to her musicianship, she’s combined her worlds to help and entertain at the same time.
This right here is affirmation music in every sense of the word and challenges existing and new listeners to really connect the dots on the themes and complexities. Even putting that aside for just a moment though, the production and beat on the song were more than enough to keep our interests piqued from the opening moments. She’s so delicately created a song that is sure to cater to all types of music listeners, and some could even interpret the feeling of it at all as therapeutic. Whatever label you’d like to put on it, regardless the song is a total hit and we personally can’t wait to dig into everything else she’s made too.
