After multiple singles releases throughout 2020, Tiana Kocher has finally released her long awaited self-titled debut EP, Tiana Kocher. Guaranteed to put a smile on your face, we recommend reading through for our full thoughts on the record, as well as insight into the artist herself.
For those who happen to be unaware, Tiana Kocher is an American singer and songwriter who aims to take you on a journey through the rollercoaster ride of love and relationships. Throughout the seven songs featured on the EP, all are extremely relatable depending on where you fall on the ride of romance. Full of unique vibrations and powerful lyrics, Tiana Kocher has masterfully crafted a vibe for all to enjoy.
As mentioned, the record spans seven inclusive tracks, spanning a comfortable listening time of twenty three minutes. As each track progresses, Tiana slowly yet assuredly lets the listener in on the deepest and potentially most intimate areas of her personal life. As an artist, one of the bravest things you can do is take those difficult life experiences and memories, and turn them into stories for all.
Lyrically speaking, there isn’t a single moment on the EP that comes off as “cheesy’ or “overblown”. Seriously, there are so many artists these days who string lines together just to make them rhyme or make up things to seem compelling, not here though. There’s a truthful honesty that exudes from track to track that really feels like Tiana is reading personal life affirmations from a diary.
Aside from the lyrics and themes, the actual music itself is the perfect type of atmosphere created for the context at hand. Production-wise, it’s an absolute home run. Listening on a bulky pair of headphones or sufficient sound system is paramount to getting the full experience. It’s filled with beautiful bass tones, classic yet simple beat structures, and Tiana’s vocals that truly bring it together to give it the perfect over the top feeling.
Now we don’t want to give too much away here, because we’d obviously prefer you listen, but for the artist being so young in her musical career, we’re incredibly impressed with the output in her discography thus far. If gold like this is being crafted at the beginning, we’re truly thrilled and looking forward to what’s to come in the future. With this all being said though, it should come as no surprise that we’re highly recommending and suggesting you take the twenty three minutes out of your busy lives and give Tiana a chance, there’s way too much upside not to.
