Delivering only his second ever single, the artist known as Three Armed Bandit has impressed us almost beyond words on his latest, “Perfect Sign”. Do yourselves a favor and read on for our full review of the track, as well as a much needed background on this emerging artist.

With just his unique set of vocals and an acoustic guitar, Three Armed Bandit has managed to evoke all the emotion and intensity on his second single, “Perfect Sign”. Leading with imagery-filled lyricism that so eloquently paints a picture of his struggles and life situations, this purely acoustic track has resonated with us in a truly deep way. This was our introduction to the artist, and it might be yours too, but we can virtually guarantee that you’re going to enjoy what you hear when you hit the play button.

Somewhere between classic country and Americana, this brand of music barely needs a label attached for you to know that it’s genuine. On the background of it all, the artist has explained, “this song is about coping with misunderstandings that will have no resolution. It can feel expansive, as if there was never such a thing as understanding. It is about acceptance, however, we still maintain a hope that we can traverse this expanse. Maybe, if we keep trying, we can break through”. For us, we take that as a nice dose of optimism and a positive look into the future. Through the musician’s vocal delivery, you can instantly sense his concerns for the present, but ultimately a forward thinking outlook for future times.

Given that the song is stripped back to one guitar and one artist’s voice, stylistically speaking there isn’t much else needed to get the beauty across. With so much music nowadays relying on gimmicky production or novelty, it’s raw performances like this that relax as you a listener and actually urge you to connect the dots within the message. Life feels so “go, go, go”, so to hear “Perfect Sign” and actually be able to relax for its three minute duration was a major positive. We’d also suggest you check out his debut “Tandem” as its similar in tone, but also presents its own differences. Truthfully, we hope that these releases are leading towards something bigger, perhaps an EP or full length record. We’d love to listen to them in an album setting, but in the meantime, we’ll surely be coming back to these.
