With so much more on the way this year, The Lunar Keys have kicked off 2022 with a powerful new single titled “Oxygen Type”. Please read on for our glowing review of the track, in addition to a background on the band.

Marking this as the band’s first song where they’ve all gotten together in the studio to complete it, “Oxygen Type” is marking a sort of new beginning for The Lunar Keys. Recorded essentially as live as possible to “capture the energy”, we can confidently claim that came through as this song is absolutely bursting with passion, emotion, and a wall of sound aesthetic that doesn’t stop until the final notes. As this was our introduction to the band, we didn’t know what to expect, but they’ve sincerely blown us away with this rocker.

With three more songs set to release this year, as well as a handful of gigs on the schedule, let us kick it off by letting you know that The Lunar Keys are a band to be watched. Specifically on “Oxygen Type” though, the group doesn’t waste a solitary moment immediately immersing the listener into a raucous and bombastic sound that’ll surely have you headbanging till the end. Besides it being filled with excitement, there’s also a really inventive and unique sounding instrumentation going on here that no doubt has piqued our interest. Through screaming guitar passages, lively drum fills, and a groovy bass, it holds all the elements of music that we adore on a personal level.

The feeling that we hoped we would have by the end is the desire for more, so thankfully The Lunar keys won’t keep us waiting too long for that to come true. It appears as though their 2021 was quite busy, so it’s going to be a nonstop thrill ride to see what else gets shared. Considering they’ve got shows on the way, there’s no doubt in our collective minds that a live set of their music can only translate better than the recorded. If you’re reading this, please oh please, make your way out to Los Angeles as soon as possible!

While we wait, go ahead and familiarize yourselves with their discography, follow along on social media, and stay up to date by checking out the links below.
