Spanning decades of sounds and styles, The Badly Behaved have made their return on an energy filled record they’ve titled Who Am I? Please keep reading for an in-depth look into the album, as well as a background on the band.

Filled to the brim with rhythm, swirling synthesizers, and so much more, The Badly Behaved’s latest album is called Who Am I? and it’s serving up the sound of the summer. While it’s mainly electronic in instrumentation, the band has formulated a production that spans and blends genres from all over. Built for those who listen to get moving and dancing, they haven’t lacked a single bit on the lyricism here. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed our listen and urge everyone out there to crank this up and give it a spin.

On the background of the record, there’s actually some incredibly deep topics and themes being covered here that include “societal issues and the hypocrisy that we all experience in our everyday lives”. With Richard von Kalmar at the helm of The Badly Behaved, and his contributions to the songwriting here as well, he was clearly influenced by the 80’s and 90’s. He grew up in Glasgow which directly impacted what he heard and what was being played at the time, however there are still plenty of modern moments presented here that bridge the gap between the old and the new. If anything, it’s an ode to a past time for the younger generation who might have missed out on the heyday of synthpop.

With Stewart Irving on lead vocals, Colé van Dias on backup vocals, and the help from Richard Wolff who engineered and co-produced, the team put together for this project deserves an A+. Every song flows so flawlessly into one another and it’s rekindling that lost feeling of an album experience. So much music nowadays focuses on individual singles, but the moment you hit the play button on the title track, there’s no turning back. It’s jam packed with good times, inventive melodies, and so much passion driven behind the scenes. It won’t come as a surprise here, but we seriously love it and need everyone to give a listen!
