5 years later, Tawobi finally reveals his long awaited full length album, "F.A.T.E."

After five long years of work, Tawobi has finally released his debut album, F.A.T.E. Read along with us as we break down our thoughts on the record, in addition some insight on the artist himself.
Since he dropped out of school back in 2015, Tawobi has been working on his debut album. Let us be the first to tell you, it was definitely time well spent. Over the course of two years he spent the time recording it while couch hopping through West Philadelphia. In 2017 though, him and his team finally got their own spot, which is where he re-recorded and put the finishing touches on the project.
The idea for it and the constant conversation surrounding it comes from a talk him and his father had one night a couple months into him dropping out and doing this 100%. The artist had a lot on his shoulders and his father had asked him if he ever heard the term 'eating the elephant'. That term is what has gotten the artist through these past 5 years.
Now that we’ve familiarized ourselves a bit with the artist, it’s time to dig into the music. As we mentioned, the fact that five difficult years went into this album speaks volumes regarding the intensity and focus an artist has to have to finally complete a project. All throughout the record, you can hear the specific touches that the artist laid out for the audience. The big original beats, the endless stream of production effects, and an inventive sound has us loving what we heard overall on F.A.T.E.
In addition to the album being great, Tawobi also released an eye-catching music video for the album’s lead single, “I Should Be”. We’ve linked it below and definitely recommend giving it a watch or two. Once you’ve done that though, it would also be in your best interest to check out the album. Seriously, if you’re into original sounding, non-mainstream hip-hop, this is absolutely the music you need in your life.
