Blowing us away with an acoustic version of her single “Jono”, our discovery of Tarney Haussler’s music has been nothing but positive! Please read on for our in-depth look at her track, as well as a background on this emerging artist.

Kicking the year off impeccably strong with “Jono”, Tarney Haussler has written this song for a friend who unfortunately passed when he was young. Filling it to the brim with emotional vocals and even deeper themes, this song serves as a beautiful tribute to someone who loved deeply. While it feels like there are infinite positives to point out, we’re going to implore the listener to check it out and make their own judgments.

Honestly, it’s really not an often occurrence that a harp-based song makes it our way, especially one as enchanting and as bold in its messaging as this one. As Tarney’s music takes on influences from Folk and Celtic heritage, we definitely felt like “Jono” leaned more on the Folk-art side. We’ll have to explore more of her music to get the feeling for the other genres that she’s proficient in, but really the artistic style she took with this one blended together perfectly for what it was all about.

Additionally, the amount of sincerity, originality, and pure passion that comes through on this was unprecedented. It’s almost as if the lyrics came directly from a journal or diary and were composed to fit a song of this caliber. As the song really only comes in at under two and a half minutes, we appreciated that it didn’t get drawn out and filled with gimmicky production effects, rather the center of the song revolves around Tarney’s silky vocals and hinges on each line being delivered.

We legitimately have nothing bad to say about this, and if anything, it’s inspired us to look deeper into her discography to see what we’ve been missing out on. In the meantime, we wholeheartedly recommend you check out this song as soon as you can.
