SWTLDS crank it up on catchy single, "Take Me Home"
On just their second officially released single, SWTLDS (Sweet Lads) have shared an instantaneously catchy one titled “Take Me Home”. We’re loving it! Please read on for our full in-depth review of the track, as well as a background on the band.
Currently based out of Los Angeles, California, SWTLDS are an indie pop-rock duo made up of Chev and Tim. Unknowingly growing up in the same small New England town, they didn’t reconnect until much later in life. Eventually collaborating on this project that we’ve so quickly come to love, they’ve since put out two singles that are 100% worth your time and energy to check out. However we definitely recommend starting with “Take Me Home”.
Featuring their good friend Glass Battles on the track, these three individuals have put together something special, memorable, and created a base for themselves going forward. While this certainly falls under the wide umbrella of indie-pop, there’s also a ton of other influences and inspirations that we felt showed themselves too. By the end of it, we got that early 2000’s pop punk feel that seems to be making a comeback. That may be in part to the vocal style and delivery, but regardless, we welcome it with open arms.
At just a tad over three minutes in run time, the band immediately throws the listener into the world and atmosphere they’ve built. You’d automatically assume there’s at least 5 guys in the band due to the grand wall of sound, but that just goes to show they know what they’re doing on the production end. With the help of Sur Chevvie on the song engineering, production, and mixing, the song really took on a life of its own.
To think that they’re cranking out such greatness so early on in their career, it’s got our hype levels at an all time high for what’s to come in 2022.
