Jam packed with seemingly infinite energy, we got the wonderful opportunity to speak with SUN to talk all about her freshly released single, “John & I (Money)”. Do yourselves a favor and check out our full interview below.

All the way in France, SUN was more than kind enough to take a moment out of her incredibly busy schedule to talk about the greatness that is her newest track, “John & I (Money)”. Classified as “brutal pop”, this song is an absolute wonder in its risk taking, emphatic vocals, and blurred lines of so many different genres. We quickly fell in love with the song, but after speaking with the artist, it became clear that she’s got a grasp on her career that’s got a fruitful future on the way.

For those potentially unfamiliar with the genre, brutal pop is “pop music mixed with metal”, which on the surface might seem subversive, but it’s truly a blast of adrenaline and energy with each moment that passes. Just released on December 9th, the song is already reaching acclaim for all those who have listened and we’re just here to back up that considering it’s right up our alley for personal preference. On the background of it all, she’s said, “it’s a cynical and sassy rock song about the twisted relationship of a rich couple (the woman's point of view)”. The lyrics are an important facet to the story of course, but there’s so much happening instrumentally, your focus is constantly being challenged as new motifs arise.

As mentioned, SUN is seriously busy at the moment with all of her touring. Currently she’s finishing up her Asia tour and has played festival dates in Europe. She also has upcoming tours in Germany, Denmark, France and Brazil, with pending UK and US dates on the horizon. Now having had the chance to enjoy the rest of her music, seeing as though this was our introduction, there are so many hidden gems within her growing discography that are begging to be played, and played loud specifically!

Please, go ahead and check out those links below to listen, follow along, and of course to stay tuned for everything else on the way. Enjoy!
