SpünDay push their limits on exotic single, "ICE-TV"
On the heels of their debut album released last year, SpünDay have delivered another perplexing new single titled “ICE-TV”. We’re loving it! Read on for our full review of the song, as well as a background on the band.
Revealing a “hallucinatory account of out of body experiences”, SpünDay have shared a truly out of the box single called “ICE-TV”. Infusing together a wide variety of musical genres, you can fully expect a pedal to the song that ends as quickly as it starts. You’ll feel energized and enthused, but undoubtedly, we need everyone out there to click play on this beast.
Since last year’s album release, Shock Wave Gang Bang, we can only assume that SpünDay have been hard at work trying to follow up something that was just as wild. Coming in at only about 2 minutes and 15 seconds, the band wastes literally zero time whatsoever throwing the listener into the deep end. While I suppose we could categorize this song as “rock”, it’s glitchy, electronic, and experimental to the max. We hear so much of the same music all the time, so it’s music like this that continues to keep us on our toes.
While the first time listener and discoverer of SpünDay might think that this is a bit too crazy for them, sonically speaking, it’s as impressive as anything we’ve heard. Just the sheer production alone and accomplishment to fit so much into such a short run time is unbelievable as is. Considering our only real “negative” to point out is that we wish it was longer, anything more added to “ICE-TV” could potentially come off as jarring. For the introduction to this band we confidently feel that this is the ideal starting place.
If you like this though, you should totally check out their debut for something on the same wavelength. Just like any band though, they should always strive to create something new and exotic, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible within their sound and style. Seeing as though we’re early on in the year, let’s hope that even more is on the way in terms of singles, EP’s, and albums. We loved what we heard and we need more at this point! Don’t miss it.
